About Us

CERPHEC is a Non Governmental Organization committed to sustainable community development through community mobilization and participation. Started intensive community activities in 2005 and got officially registered with the Edo State Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development in March 2006 and the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) in 2012.

CERPHEC’s activities are primarily Research driven. By applying sets of basic research methodologies and considering universally acceptable standards. The centre has adapted and localized universally tested research tools in addressing local needs. CERPHEC’s interventions are majorly results and evidences based; studying and analyzing human behaviors for adequate responses. The organization has participated actively in the development of the National and state HIV and AIDS strategic plans (N/SSP), National and state HIV and AIDS Prevention Plan (NPP) and the Edo SEED. CERPHEC has over the years worked with local and international partners and funders including USAID,CDC, Global Fund and the World Bank.

A Nigerian Society free of common health issues especially among the poor and vulnerable.

Mission:

To empower, motivate and build capacity of the poor and vulnerable to have access to and live healthy lives.

Objectives

  • Identify common health issues especially among the poor and vulnerable through participatory processes
  • Identify behaviors /job activities that put the poor and vulnerable at risk of common health problems through research and proper documentation
  • Build capacity especially of the poor and vulnerable to practice safe healthy behaviors that will promote preventive Health care through community mobilization and involvement, workshops and seminars.
  • Mobilize beneficiaries to access preventive health facilities, activities and other programs e.g. immunization through education and sharing of useful information.
  • Collaborate with other partners to promote and provide preventives health care services.

Board members

The Board headed by Mrs. Mercy Omobude is made up of three persons drawn from the Academia, Public servants and Business men/women but with interest in developmental and social work.

Management: CERPHEC is managed daily by a team headed by the Program coordinator/Executive Director.  Current Staff strength:  7 (Full time) and more than one hundred volunteers
